Court hours: Pretrial conferences are usually scheduled for Monday and Thursday afternoons beginning at 1:00 p.m. First appearances and other legal matters can also be heard on Thursday evenings begining at 7 p.m. Court information: The Greene County District Attorney?s Office prosecutes the speeding and traffic tickets issued by the New York State Police. The Greene County Sheriffs prosecute the traffic and speeding tickets they issue. An appearance is required to negotiate a plea reduction. General information: This is the highest volume speeding and traffic ticket Court in southern Greene County due to the number of traffic tickets issued on the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87). The Court is located in the Catskill Town Office building on the right side as you enter the Village of Catskill. Established in 1788, Catskill has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years due to the popularity of its antique shopping district on Main Street in the Village. The Greene County Courthouse and County Office building is located within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. One of Catskill?s most notable residents, was Thomas Cole the painter, who is highly recognized as one of the world?s foremost landscape artists. Cole?s Cedar Grove, a national historic site is located just on the edge of the village.
